Google listens to your requests and attempts to implement many into SketchUp enhancements and new features. Google SketchUp and Google SketchUp Pro 7.1 contain the following enhancements and new features:
Performance
SketchUp 7.1 has improved rendering performance for large models. Operations such as orbiting, zooming, and animations are quicker and smoother in SketchUp 7.1 with the correct setup.
Upload Component
An Upload Component button allows you to select components within a model and upload them individually to the Google 3D Warehouse. This feature is terrific for Dynamic Components and for 3D buildings that are part of a larger model.

Collada Import/Export
Collada is a 3D file format based on open standards allowing you to move models between many 3D software programs. SketchUp 7.1 now supports Collada (KMZ) import and export.

Reset Workspace
A new Reset Workspace button allows you to reset SketchUp to its default configuration (all dialog boxes are closed). This feature is in the Workspace panel of SketchUp preferences and is useful when your dialog boxes disappear when you change your monitor resolution.

Nearby Models
The Nearby Models menu item in the Components Browser allows you to search for all models nearest to the current Google Earth snapshot.

Disable Update Service
The Automatically check for updates checkbox allow you to disable the update service, a requirement of some IT departments. This feature is in the General panel of SketchUp preferences.
